Man pilfers $500 worth of pants

COEUR d'ALENE - A man fled the Target store with more than $500 worth of jeans Saturday night.

According to a Coeur d'Alene police report, a man in his early 20s ran from the store about 5:30 with a hand basket stuffed full of Levi Strauss blue jeans, as well as carrying several under his arm.

A security guard pursued and saw the suspect get into a Chevrolet Blazer that pulled up in front of the store. The suspect dropped two pair of jeans, valued at $23 each.

It was estimated the suspect got away with 15 to 20 pair of jeans.

Police searched the area for the Blazer, but did not find it.

The suspect who ran from the store was described as a white male, 19-24 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, medium build, and wearing a white baseball cap.

The driver was described as a white male, about 18 years old, with a blue, puffy coat.
