Business conference to be held at Resort
COEUR d'ALENE - The annual Idaho Business Opportunity Conference will be held on Nov. 4 at The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
The statewide conference helps companies match up their products and services with government agencies' purchasing needs. Many of the Northwest's largest corporations will also be in attendance to meet with small companies looking for subcontracting opportunities.
Seminars will offer information on how to become a federal contractor, how to sell to the state of Idaho and more. More than 40 federal and state buyers, as well as large corporations, will be at the conference to talk to companies about how they can get contracts to do business with them.
Cost is $55 until Oct. 25, and after that it is $65. Registration fees cover all seminars, access to all buyers and purchasing agents, continental breakfast and lunch.

J-U-B announces new engineers
J-U-B Engineers, Inc. is proud to announce its recently licensed engineers, Michelle Johnson, Jon Baune, and Andrew Baden in the Coeur d'Alene office, passed their engineering examinations.
Johnson and Baden received their bachelor of science degrees from the University of Idaho. Johnson's degree in chemical engineering and environmental studies led to her special focus in hydrology and water treatment.
Baden utilizes his civil engineering skills on a variety of land development and roadway design projects, including a recently completed Interstate 84 project west of Boise.
Baune received his bachelor of science degree from Gonzaga University. He specializes in water and wastewater system modeling, field analysis, and design.
Witches' Night Out in Cd'A
The Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association will be hosting the Annual Witches Night Out on Friday, Oct. 29 from 5-8 p.m.
"Come play Witch Hunt Bingo while you enjoy an evening of shopping, dining and treats," according to a press release.
"Boo Light Specials" will be available all night long. Best (Adult) Costume Contest begins at 7 p.m. in the Plaza Shops.

Legislative affairs to be discussed at chamber breakfast
POST FALLS - The Post Falls chamber's Governmental Affairs Committee Chair Jerry Keane will speak at the nonprofit's Takin' Care of Business breakfast on Tuesday.
Cost is $18 per person. Doors open at 7 a.m. and the program starts at 7:25 a.m.
Keane will speak about the GAC policies, committee functions and goals for the 2011 year. The GAC addresses legislative issues that would improve the local business climate.
Local political candidates will be given one minute to introduce themselves to the membership.
