HART: It's all about character

| October 15, 2010 10:00 PM

How many questionable issues are we going to have to endure from Phil Hart? The article: AG: Hart Stole State Timber, Oct. 12, gives us a glimpse into Hart's character. Who does he point the finger at for his actions? Our loggers!

"It was a standard practice years ago... how should I say this..."

It appears he knows he must phrase things carefully to cover any questionable actions. Blaming the loggers? They did it, so I can do it. No; we are all responsible for our own actions. I also think it is wrong of Hart to lump all loggers into one category to justify what he did. Can you imagine if everyone felt free to take logs from our forests to build their home? Such action is not only harmful to our forests it is also harmful to the logging industry. It's a little different than simply gathering fire wood.

Once again, we see Phil Hart acting outside of the law because he doesn't agree with it. This time he thinks it should be a law, so he will simply do what he wants. "Hart said citizens should be able to cut timber from state endowment lands for their private use. ‘I think there should be a program for it,' he said."

Yeah, but there isn't a program for it! Sorry; but things simply don't work that way. This is the same attitude Hart had with his income taxes. He didn't like the income tax, so he decided not to pay - this then to everyone else's expense.

We have a better choice on Nov. 2. Please mark the bubble after you write-in "Howard Griffiths." Mr. Griffiths is a conservative Republican who doesn't believe he is above the law. His qualifications include: Public Works Director; Kootenai Sheriff's Marine Division; Battalion Chief Fire Department; business owner & CEO. He is pro Second Amendment and he supports school choice.

I believe it is time for Mr. Hart to admit he has one too many issues before him that are getting in the way of his ability to best serve his constituents.
