Have you had your nerve system checked lately?

If your nerve system doesn't work right, YOU don't work right! Through our nerve system we are able to express many things in life. We can enjoy a beautiful sunset, the sound of a baby's giggle, run to catch the bus, savor the aroma of freshly baked bread, and yes, even produce the right amount of stomach acid to help digest dinner. These are just some of the many expressions of your nerve system.

Let's take a look at the nerve system. Your nerve system is so vital that key parts are protected by bone. The skull protects your brain. Your spinal cord, the "information superhighway" of your nerve system, is covered and protected by the 24 moving bones of your spine called vertebrae.

All kinds of stresses...emotional, chemical and physical can cause spinal bones to lose their normal motion or position. When a bone in the spine is misaligned it is called a vertebral subluxation.

Subluxations cause interference with the function of your nerve system, which negatively effects all aspects of your life. You may or you may not feel pain when you have a subluxation.

Even if you don't feel pain, you can and often do have misalignments of the spine that are causing harm to your body thus not allowing you to live in a healthy way. Symptoms like pain may not present themselves until the subluxation has already done much damage to your spine and your nervous system.

SSLike the early stages of tooth decay, heart disease, or cancer, vertebral subluxations cannot only affect your health, but every aspect of your life, even if you don't have obvious symptoms.

The quality of your life is a direct reflection of the integrity of your nerve system.

Our primary tools to locate vertebral subluxations are our hands, to palpate and assess what your body is expressing.

We now have new technology to aid in our assessment of your spine. The Insight Subluxation Station is state-of-the-art technology that objectively detects potential areas of nerve interference.

This Subluxation Station gives our hands "added vision" and the ability to "see" within the body, to assess how well the mind and body are communicating with each other via the nerve system.

This new technology will objectively detect potential areas of nerve interference, document and monitor results, and help determine the appropriate care for you.

With this new technology, my care recommendations are based on your scans using the Subluxation Station, x-rays (if necessary), discussion of your health and health history and the palpation of your spine. By using the scanning process of the Subluxation Station, we have objective proof that your spine and nerve system are changing and help serve as guidelines by which to monitor your progress and appropriately modify your care.

I will share with you in future articles more specific information as to how the Subluxation Station works to aid us in our care for our patients. It is one more tool for us to help you to live a more healthy and vibrant life! Don't wait until pain or other symptoms cause you to make your health a priority.
