COEUR d’ALENE — Jamil Lawyer’s goal with 1 minute left in double overtime lifted North Idaho College to a 2-1 victory over the Boise State club team Sunday at Eisenwinter Field.

Lawyer slammed the ball into the net from 6 yards out following a scramble in front of the net following a corner kick.

“It seemed like we had done everything in overtime except score, so it was nice to put one in,” said NIC coach Scott Moorcroft, whose team played without captain Chris Hawkins (hamstring), and lost forward Evan Frobe for the game after he suffered a cut over his eye early in the second half. “We just battled through it, and I think we finally found a way to get it in the back of the net.”

NIC (6-7-1), which has played five games in the last nine days, gets a little breather before traveling to Rock Springs, Wyo., for games Friday vs. Western Wyoming and Sunday vs. Western Nebraska.

First half — 1, NIC, Eli Kesselheim (Matt Lieggi), 23:00. 2, BSU, Michael Kafari, 35:00. Second half — none. First overtime — none. Second overtime — 3, NIC, Jamil Lawyer (unassisted), 109:00.

Shots on goal — BSU 15, NIC 14.
