CURRIE: Respect voters' decision
What part of "NO" doesn't soon-to-be former Kootenai County Commissioner Rick Currie understand? Hasn't anyone told him that when we voted him out during the primary election, we don't want him running in the general election as a write-in?
Rick apparently has a very short memory. For all he claims to love the people here, the country, his claim of work ethics and values you can count on, he seems to have forgotten about the "huge" 20 percent-plus salary increase he so soundly voted for, for himself, former commissioner Gus Johnson and the Lady Commissioner. Johnson and the lady were soundly defeated that same fall in their re-election bid, primarily because of the pay raise the three of them voted in for themselves. The only reason Rick was not ousted back then, was that he was not up for re-election. If you remember, before he voted for the increase, he claimed to be against it.
So much for his new claims to not be manipulated by persons with a personal agenda, his striving to be fair, and to save money for the taxpayers of Kootenai County.
Give it up, Rick! We don't want you as County Commissioner anymore. How many times do we have to vote you out before you will understand?
