Vikings handle Vallivue

CALDWELL — Junior quarterback Chad Chalich completed 15 of 27 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns for the second-ranked Coeur d’Alene Vikings in a 37-20 win over third-ranked Vallivue Falcons on Friday in nonleague high school football.

Drew Turbin had seven catches for 176 yards and one touchdown and Zach Keiser had 17 carries for 76 yards and one touchdown for Coeur d’Alene (5-1), which opens 5A Inland Empire League play at Lewiston next Friday.

It was the Vikings’ second win in as many weeks over a team ranked in the top 3 in 5A in Idaho.

Mike Burk had 33 carries for 238 yards for Vallivue (5-1).
