Change your batteries, save your home
The Coeur d'Alene Fire Department's fire prevention program aimed at assisting people to change their batteries and adding or replace smoke detectors.
The department wants to be sure disabled and elderly people receive assistance with changing their smoke detector batteries.
Citizens needing help can call the fire department to set up an appointment.
Crews will arrive at the house and change the detector batteries or install smoke detectors if needed. They will bring any other needed equipment. A limited number of smoke detectors and batteries will be on hand.
Nov. 7 is when we turn our clocks back to standard time. The Coeur d'Alene Fire Department encourages everyone to change their smoke detector batteries on that day.
To schedule an appointment, call The Coeur d'Alene Fire Department at 769-2340 or come by any city fire station or headquarters, 300 E. Foster Ave., if you are able to replace the batteries yourself.
