COURAGE: Lacking in political corners

| October 8, 2010 10:00 PM

After reading the front page of The Press on Monday, Oct. 4, regarding the "Fewer Answers" article, I have to stop and ask myself, "Is there any politician who has the guts to stand up and be counted?"

I find it sad and disgusting that so few people running for office in Idaho, Republican, Democrat and Independent, would take the "Political Courage Test."

What that tells me is that most people running for office have the backbone to be honest and tell us what they represent and how they will act once they are elected. That way, they are safe to slip and slide around anything that matters so that they are free to sell us out, whenever they feel like it. It is a good thing that none of them are in the military, on the front lines in battle, because they would be shot for cowardice.

Is there anyone running for a public office that has the courage to stand for something that has to do with honor and integrity? From the governor all the way down to the County Commissioners we are treated like mushrooms. Kept in the dark, and fed a lot of BS.

I wonder who got paid off so that oil company could try and transport those ridiculous loads through Idaho. Why didn't Currie and the Commissioners have the courage to not raise our taxes? Ah well, just another day in North Idaho.
