Heritage Place rated as superior

An audit by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) recently awarded Heritage Place with a superior rating in its comprehensive management review.

The review is conducted to determine compliance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations.

Heritage Place has been providing what's called Section 8 housing to the Coeur d'Alene community since 1979. It offers 154 one-bedroom apartments for qualified seniors more than 62 years old.

"We were extremely pleased to receive a superior rating," said Mike Grabenstein, executive director at Heritage Place. "We work hard at providing a place where older adults can retire and feel good about living here. It's more than just senior apartments, it's a real community of friends."

The IHFA's report said that Heritage Place has "excellent curb appeal" and added, "often exceeds statutory, regulatory and handbook requirements."

Heritage Place currently has rooms available for seniors with extremely low incomes.

The business frames photos, posters, stitcheries, jerseys, paintings and other items.

The business also has changed its hours to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sidewalk sale starts Friday

Thirty businesses are participating in the downtown Coeur d'Alene sidewalk sale Oct. 8-10.
