COEUR d'ALENE - Three businesses were heavily damaged Saturday night when a structure fire ripped through a building on Government Way, according to firefighters and police.

At 8:18 p.m., fire crews responded to a blaze at Performance R/C Hobbies (2923 N. Government Way), said Coeur d'Alene Fire Department Battalion Chief John Morrison. R/C Hobbies, RG3 Suspension and Motion Sports - all contained in the same building - were significantly damaged, he said.

No one was injured in the fire.

Crews did not clear the scene until about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Morrison said. Firefighters searched for hot spots and investigated the building later Sunday morning.

It is unclear whether any of the businesses can be salvaged, Morrison said Sunday. Engineers will look over the structure.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, Morrison said, but the Coeur d'Alene fire and police departments are investigating the blaze.

Several engines and a ladder truck from the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department, Kootenai County Fire and Rescue and the Northern Lakes Fire District were on scene Saturday, firefighters said.
