MEALS: Generosity promotes goodwill

| November 19, 2010 9:00 PM

On behalf of all the active and former armed service members, I would like to thank the owner, manager and employees of Applebee's who so generously served all of us on Veterans Day a very appreciated meal. We were all served, including all our family members, with great meal selections and generous portions.

This was a repeat of last year and I would like to suggest that other Coeur d'Alene restaurant owners join in next year and offer their appreciation to veterans and their family members in the same way. Even during these hard times, this generosity promotes goodwill and good advertising in the community.

In conclusion, the Golden Corral in Spokane also treated the present and former armed service veterans with a "free" meal without asking questions or requiring proof of service, trusting that all those attending were honest. Attendees enjoyed the comradeship and talking over experiences of their service. Our heartfelt thanks to Applebee's and all those associated.
