GOTHAM: Nothing creepy about it

| November 5, 2010 10:00 PM

A recent "My Turn" letter by Patricia Wolford talking about the Gotham Bay Estates seemed to be short on facts and a bit long on silliness.

The claim that walking in the Gotham Bay Estates development is extremely creepy and somehow like the twilight zone, will come as a surprise to the many neighbors who get their exercise while enjoying the open space, beautiful trees and incredible lake views while walking there. The place is as beautiful as nearly any campground I have seen and there is nothing "ghostly or creepy" about it.

The development is not fenced in, to keep everyone out, as the author supposes. My property borders Gotham Bay Estates and Doug Anderson asked if we could remove our common fence to create a more open feel. We opted to keep the fence up for livestock, which thankfully is one of Patricia's approved fencing uses.

I guess the lesson to be taken from Patricia's letter is that she just may be the real "Queen of Idaho" that she refers to in her letter, and that all "mentally ill" real estate investors, "nasty" property owners and homebuyers should consult her before making any decisions. She is obviously an elitist and knows what is best for the rest of us. The funny thing is, once critics like her have their homes in place, they feel free to lecture the rest of us on how we should live.
