COEUR d'ALENE - Police are investigating a spree of graffiti, theft and burglary incidents that happened late Sunday and early Monday.

Six vehicles and a garage door on the 2300 block of North Honeysuckle were tagged with black spray paint, according to police reports. The letters "FNK" and other markings were sprayed on three cars, two pickup trucks, an RV and a garage door.

The targeted vehicles were either parked in driveways or in the street in front of the owner's home.

A 2007 Nissan Frontier valued at $17,000 was stolen from the driveway of one home on Honeysuckle.

One resident said the windows and door of his Honda Civic were spray painted. He said it was surprising because the 2300 block of Honeysuckle is calm and peaceful.

"There hasn't been a whole lot of crime, and then this," he said.

Neighbors are asked to be alert for strange cars and people in their neighborhoods.

There were also at least six car burglaries in the same time frame between late Sunday and early Monday, according to police reports.

Cars hit were on Troon, W. Riverstone, Prairie, Parkwood Court, W. Spiers, W. Mill, and Spruce.

Speakers, vehicle registrations, remote controls, credit cards, keys and tobacco were the items taken. Some of the cars were unlocked, while others had windows smashed

Police did not say if the graffiti and burglary incidents were related.
