S. Idaho man in custody after shooting

PAUL - Authorities said a south-central Idaho man is in custody following the shooting death of a 32-year-old woman.Police said 40-year-old Juan Manuel Arellano of Paul is being held after a 32-year-old woman was shot Saturday night at the El Paralito Bar on Highway 30 and later died at the Cassia Regional Medical Center.

Police said officers arrived at the bar and found the woman with a single gunshot wound to her upper torso.Her name has not been released.

Former Idaho prosecutor to be released from prison

IDAHO FALLS - The former prosecutor for Bonneville County and Idaho Falls has been paroled after serving nearly four years in prison for stealing guns.

Kimball Mason was released Friday and will be under the supervision of the District 7 probation and parole officer.Idaho Parole Commission Executive Director Olivia Craven says Kimball will be required to take part in a program intended to improve his decision making.

Mason was sentenced to serve up to 15 years in prison for stealing guns from the Idaho Falls Police Department's evidence vault.According to the minutes of a parole board hearing, Mason plans to work at Chapman Construction.

Montana man who died in ATV crash identified

ST. ANTHONY - Fremont County officials have identified the Montana man killed in an all-terrain vehicle crash at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in eastern Idaho.

Police said 33-year-old Ben G. Crofton of Billings, Mont., died Thursday.The Fremont County Sheriff's office received a 911 call shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday that a man had crashed at Thunder Mountain. Emergency responders performed CPR without success.
