Duck race fundraiser set

A rubber duck race is set for 4 p.m. Monday to benefit the Coeur d'Alene Firefighters Pipes and Drums band.

The event will be on the Lazy River at Silverwood Theme Park's Boulder Beach.

Ducks are $5 each or $20 for five.

Prizes include $1,500 for first place; $1,000 for second; and golf and overnight packages at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, the Coeur d'Alene Casino and a gift basket valued at $450.

Grand prize winners will be announced on the Coeur d'Alene Firefighters Pipes and Drums website at www.cdaffpd.org/duckrace on June 1.

"Thank you and may your duck be the fastest," said a press release.

Duck tickets are available at the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department Administration Building, 300 Foster Ave. Tickets will also be for sale at Silverwood this weekend and Monday.

Funds will go to the Pipe and Drums band for uniforms and travel expenses.
