Man, 80, helped after boat capsizes

ROSE LAKE - An area man had to swim for safety when his boat tipped over in Killarney Lake Wednesday morning.

The 80-year-old man had been fishing when his boat tipped for unknown reasons about 8 a.m., according to the Shoshone County District II Fire Department. Campers at the Killarney Lake boat launch noticed the man in the water and called for help.

With his boat under water, the man was able to paddle to shore after 30 to 45 minutes in the water. The man was checked for hypothermia and found to be in good condition.
