Boise State player

sentenced in bar fight case

BOISE - Suspended Boise State player Jason Robinson was sentenced to 180 days in jail and ordered to pay $29,000 in restitution for breaking another man's jaw during a fight at a downtown bar.

Robinson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery Tuesday in a deal with prosecutors. The judge suspended 160 days of a sentence that allows him to serve on a county labor crew instead of jail. Robinson must also serve two years' probation and complete 200 hours of community service.

Robinson apologized for his behavior and said he has learned a lesson. He was initally charged with a felony. But a felony conviction would have ended his eligibility for his athletic scholarship.

The 21-year-old safety was suspended in March. Last season, he collected 26 tackles playing mostly on special teams.

Hamm, Hair victorious at

Canadian swim nationals

NANAIMO, British Columbia - Mike Hamm and Margaret Hair, both of Coeur d'Alene, represented Lake City Kroc Masters at Canadian Masters Swim Nationals on May 21-24.

Hamm, in the men's 50-54 age group, won the 50 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke, beating the Canadian National record for the Long Course 200 breaststroke with a winning time of 2 minutes, 49.52 seconds. He finished the weekend with a second in the 200 backstroke, third in the 200 individual medley and third in the 100 backstroke.

Hair, in the 55-59 age group, finished second in the 200 individual medley, fourth in the 50 free, 50 butterfly and 200 backstroke, and fifth in the 100 back.

Ex-Vandal lineman

signs with Shock

SPOKANE - Former Idaho Vandal offensive lineman Adam Juratovac, offensive lineman Brandon Leyritz and defensive back Ruschard Dodd-Masters have signed with the Spokane Shock.

The Shock also placed offensive lineman Antonio Narcisse on the injured reserve list, traded offensive lineman Branden Hall to the Alabama Vipers for future considerations and placed defensive back James Todd on re-assignment.

Juratovac (6-foot-3, 315 pounds) appeared in 41 games at Idaho, including the Vandals' Humanitarian Bowl victory last December.

Leyritz (6-3, 325) is an af2 veteran who spent time with the Arkansas Twisters (2009), the Boise Burn (2008), and with the Spokane Shock (2007). As a rookie with Spokane in 2007, Leyritz started the final nine games of the season and earned a training camp spot with the AFL's Cleveland Gladiators the following season.

Like Leyritz, Dodd-Masters is also an af2 veteran. Last season Dodd-Masters (6-0 190), split time with the Central Valley Coyotes and the Stockton Lightning, registering 63 tackles, two interceptions and eight pass break-ups in 14 games.

The Shock's newest acquisitions will be eligible to play Saturday when Spokane hosts the Jacksonville Sharks.
