Marietta Huff, 94
Mrs. Huff passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Legacy House in Post Falls.
She was born Nov. 28, 1915, to William Sr. and Grayce Trammill Neergaard in Oakesdale, Wash. She attended her schooling in Ewan, Wash., and later moved to Priest River with her family where she graduated from Priest River High School in 1934. She later attended Kinman Business Collage in Spokane.
In 1937, she was an attache, taking dictation and typing for the Idaho House of Representatives legislative session in Boise. In 1939, she was an attache for the Idaho Senate and helped type the permanent journal after the regular season.
She married Ronald Huff Sr. on Sept. 7, 1941, in Coeur d Alene, and the couple made their home in Priest River, moving to Palouse, Wash., in 1961. Marietta was a cook at Pullman Memorial Hospital for 15 years and retired in 1978.
Marietta inspired us all with her faith and religion. She was known by many and loved by all.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Huff Jr. of Eugene, Ore.; one daughter, Susan Krause and her husband Gary of Spirit Lake; one stepdaughter, Merry Ann Gillham and her husband Billy of Lake Chelan, Wash.; one sister, Patricia Jackson of Beaverton, Ore.; four grandchildren, Marc Krause and Lorna of Post Falls, Lori Wolf and Tony of Post Falls, Julie Ellis and Mike of Clarkston, Wash., and Gene Huff of Seattle; six great-grandchildren, three step great-grandsons and one step granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, great-grandson Matthew, brother Bill Neergaard Jr. and daughter-in-law Cheryl Kinnee.
A memorial for Marietta Huff will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Legacy House, 1136 E. Mullan Ave., Post Falls.
