SANDPOINT- A 76-year-old Sandpoint man was injured Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving struck a deer on U.S. 95 near Pack River Road.
James T. Neveau was southbound on U.S. 95 on a 2008 Honda at 1 p.m., approximately 10 miles north of Sandpoint, when a deer ran in front of his motorcycle, according to Idaho State Police.
Neveau, who was not wearing a helmet, struck the deer in the southbound lane, troopers said. Alcohol was not a factor.
Neveau was transported to Bonner General Hospital where his condition late Saturday was listed as stable. He was admitted to the hospital's ER with multiple contusions.
