FEDS: Sending a mixed message

The ignorance (or is it arrogance) of our federal government never ceases to amaze me.

Take one little example: We are told to protect our Social Security number; never carry it in a billfold or purse. Be careful not to give it out on the internet, don't give it to someone over the telephone, don't write it in a letter, etc. etc.

Then the government turns around and asks that our Social Security number is included in a personal check when we send a payment to the IRS!

As I said, they are either ignorant or arrogant, and I have just about come to the conclusion it's the federal government's arrogance that is getting us in economic hot water.
