PF police identify Walgreens suspect
POST FALLS - One of the suspects in Sunday's robbery at the Post Falls Walgreens has been identified as Darin M. Pannell, 21, Coeur d'Alene.
Police have obtained a warrant for his arrest. They also obtained a search warrant on Tuesday for his Coeur d'Alene home, but he was not located.
Pannell's live-in girlfriend told police she has not seen or spoken to him since Saturday.
"We've talked to his friends and family, but nobody has seen him in quite awhile," Post Falls Police Chief Scot Haug said.
The second suspect has not been identified.
"We've received about a half dozen tips in the past couple days," Haug said.
Investigators received information from several citizen tips identifying Pannell as one of the suspects. In addition to the tips, investigators used photo comparisons and still video from the robbery to identify Pannell, formerly of Post Falls, as the suspect.
"We appreciate the community's involvement with this," Haug said. "The robbery was on Sunday and we obtained a warrant for his arrest on Tuesday. That's because of the community and the staff working on this."
In Sunday's incident, two suspects walked up to the pharmacy counter and demanded Oxycontin, then fled on foot. There were no injuries.
Pannell's only criminal history as an adult is for driving while suspended and driving without privileges.
Those with information on Pannell and the other suspect are encouraged to call police at 773-3517 or leave an anonymous tip at www.postfallspolice.com.
