No. 1 Salt Lake sweeps NIC

SALT LAKE CITY - Cyd Allen went 3 for 3 with two RBIs in the first game for the top-ranked Salt Lake Community College Bruins in a 5-0, 3-1 Scenic West Athletic Conference sweep over the North Idaho Cardinals on Friday at Bruin Field.

Salt Lake (54-3, 42-3 SWAC) and fourth-place North Idaho (32-26, 25-21) conclude the regular season today with another doubleheader.

Sarah Clark of Salt Lake had eight strikeouts in the first game.

In the second game, Jessica Ross had the Cardinals' lone RBI on a single to score Lauren Maloney in the sixth inning.

Salt Lake's Jordyn McDonald improved to 28-0 and Meranda Wood hit a two-run single in the fourth inning for the Bruins in the second game.
