Farmers markets begin today
Fresh air. Fresh fruit. Big smiles.
Time to go grocery shopping.
The Kootenai County Farmers' Market returns for its 25th installment this weekend, opening today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Prairie Avenue and U.S. 95.
The Downtown Market will open from 4 to 7 p.m. this Wednesday, May 12, at its usual location at the corner of 5th Street and Sherman Avenue in Coeur d'Alene.
Vendors' items will include fruit and vegetables, salmon, beef, lamb, bread, jam and crafts.
All vendors produce or grow what they sell.
This year also features new additions like reusable shopping bags and food stamps.
The market will run every Saturday and Wednesday through the end of October.
Mothers eat for free at PF Lions Club breakfast
POST FALLS - Mothers will be served a free breakfast from the Post Falls Lions Club on Sunday for Mother's Day at the Post Falls Senior Center, 1215 E. Third Ave, from 7-11 a.m.
Pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee and juice will be served during the all-you-can-eat breakfast.
Cost for others is $5.
