ELECTION: Key issue is fairnesss
The Election Challenge is no longer just about candidate Jim Brannon "losing the election by five votes.” It's all about having fair elections, and whether this election was conducted lawfully. It's about whether eligible persons were allowed to illegally cast their votes in the city of Coeur d'Alene's November election, either for or against Jim Brannon.
Fair elections, without fraud or malfeasance, are the cornerstone of our liberty and freedom.
The electorate has a constitutional right to a speedy resolution in resolving this unlawful act. However, it appears that the wheels of justice are, purposely, turning very, very slow. The election was held November 3, 2009. It is now May 2010. It is absolutely outrageous to think that our city prosecutors are doing nothing about these critical issues.
Also very disconcerting is the notion that Jim Brannon is undertaking this legal challenge on his own. If it wasn't for the patriotism of attorney Star Kelso doing all the legal work for zero dollars, and the contributions of concerned citizens seeking the truth, the Election Challenge would not have proceeded forward at all. It is unconscionable that Jim Brannon, a private citizen, has to principally fund his own court action to uncover and correct the election malfeasance by city and county employees in this election.
Shouldn't the county prosecutor's office be the one doing the investigation work? Wouldn't you think that both the city and county officials would be interested in revealing the truth, rather than, seemingly, trying to delay and cover up the problem? Wouldn't you think that our local law enforcement would be looking into the claims of fraud, and improper election procedures? Wouldn't you think all the individuals involved would be anxious to bring these improper procedures to the attention of our courts? Is this really what the City wants?
What in the good lord’s name is going in our city?
