Why are you running for office?

The Idaho Republican Party Platform makes it clear that, “The Republican Ideal” calls for limited government and lower taxes. The Incumbent, through his public position statements (votesmart.org) has made it clear that he does not think it a priority to lower taxes or reduce the size of government. I believe I would do a better job for District 5 Taxpayers.

What do you see as the three biggest issues you’ll face?

A. Cutting the cost of government and reducing taxes.

B. Stimulating the economy and creating jobs.

C. Stopping the constant intrusion of the Federal Government into the lives of Idahoans.

If elected, what steps will you take to resolve these issues?

A. No politician, including the incumbent, wants to make the tough decision about what programs to cut. I’m completing my exhaustive review of the Idaho budget and identifying non?essential programs and functions. I will draft and introduce legislation to make the necessary cuts. Substantial, real cuts will result in substantial, real tax savings and should allow a corresponding tax cut.

B. History proves reducing taxes stimulates the economy. The Idaho Income tax scheme is outdated and unnecessary. I would draft, introduce and fight for legislation that would eliminate the Income Tax; and draft and introduce legislation that would reduce governmental burdens on small business owners to stimulate job creation and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit that has made America great!

C. I will draft and introduce legislation to make it a crime for any agent of the Federal Government to violate State law. Further, I will draft and introduce legislation to protect all Idahoans from the ravages of the immoral and illegal monetary system controlled by the Federal Reserve and foisted upon Idaho in violation of the Constitution.

What specific skills or experience qualify you for this job?

I have extensive training and experience in areas that are of concern to citizens of Idaho, like Business, Corporate, Tax and Constitutional Law. I have studied the Idaho Constitution. I know the limits of government and don’t need on?the?job?training. I have drafted legislation and been directly involved with, and understand, the lobbying process. I am ready to serve!

Why should voters elect you, rather than an opponent?

The incumbent has had four years to show his commitment to limiting government and lowering taxes. I believe he has failed in doing so. I am not aware of any legislation he has drafted and introduced that has had any significant impact on lowering taxes or shrinking government. I believe I can do better for Idaho’s 5th District.
