Why are you running for office?

It is rewarding to improve the quality of life and increase economic opportunities for Idahoans.

What do you see as the three biggest issues you’ll face?

Enhancing economic prosperity, presiding over the Idaho State Senate and assisting the Governor in all tasks he may assign.

If elected, what steps will you take to resolve these issues?

Creating job opportunities and pursuing economic advantages has always been a priority of mine.  I will work hard to create economic prosperity and good career opportunities throughout Idaho through initiatives such as Governor Otter’s Project 60.  This is a great tool to help bring viable business to the state.  I will work as hard as I can to fulfill the constitutional role of the Lieutenant Governor as a fair and efficient President of the Senate and will work with the Governor and Legislature to enhance every opportunity available to get our state back on track.

What specific skills or experience qualify you for this job?

As a lifelong Idahoan I have gained many experiences and skills as a rancher and small business owner.  My service to and leadership in: the Idaho Community Foundation, Idaho Woolgrowers and Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry has given me a broad sense of issues throughout Idaho.  I have served as Idaho’s Lieutenant Governor over the past two years and served for 10 years in the Idaho State Senate.

Why should voters elect you, rather than an opponent?

My experience as a leader in agriculture, business, education, and the legislature.  My appreciation and understanding of Idaho gained from a lifetime of living, working and raising a family here.
