Avista to draw down

| May 6, 2010 9:00 PM

SPOKANE - Avista Utilities will draw down the water level at Noxon Reservoir throughout the week. It is expected that the reservoir will be lowered approximately 1 foot per day, dropping the level of the lake to roughly 5 feet below its maximum elevation by Friday.

The reservoir will then be refilled over the weekend and should be back to normal elevation by Monday.

The drawdown will allow Avista to inspect the reservoir and perform routine maintenance, as well as help facilitate installation of a fire hydrant by the Trout Creek Fire Department, scheduled for Friday.

Water levels are subject to change due to a variety of factors, such as weather or equipment problems. Reservoir users should always be alert to signs of such changes and exercise the highest level of personal caution and safety when using the waterways.

Updated reservoir level information is available by calling Avista's recorded Lake Information Line at (509) 495-8043. For other questions, call (406) 847-1280.
