| May 5, 2010 9:00 PM

SOFTBALL

COEUR d'ALENE - Richelle Ashburn fired 15 strikeouts and Dara Kolar's two-run single in the top of the sixth inning knocked in the eventual game-winning run as Post Falls beat Coeur d'Alene 5-3 in the first game of a 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader Tuesday at Larry Schwenke Field.

Brooke Litalien put the Trojans (11-7, 4-5) on the board with a three-run homer in the top of the first. The freshman had three hits in the game.

Jessica Lupinacci had three hits, one RBI and scored three times, Lindsie Scholwinski struck out eight and Coeur d'Alene won the nightcap 8-1.

"We played good 'D' both games and our bats came alive in the second game."
