OBAMACARE: Try to understand it

Here we go again! Janice Shay of Rathdrum has it wrong on several points. Being a low-information consumer as shown in the letters column titled "Obamacare" dated April 14th.

First. Ms Janice misses what socialized medicine, as she sees it, would be. Under a socialized system, the government (gov) would own all hospitals and treatment facilities where all workers are federal employees as well as all local doctors and their staff.

Second. Ms Janice is wrong when it comes to Medicare. The care Medicare provides is subsidizes (Single Payer) by the gov. and it's good. The closest the United States comes to socialized care is with the Veterans Administration where the gov. owns the facilities, and employee the staff.

Third. Ms Janice doesn't understand that the new law will bring 3 to 4 million more people to the doors of the mega-billion-dollar-for-profit insurance companies. The insurance industry will rack up millions in profits in this form of corporate welfare. The plan from the start was to reel in the insane profits of the medical, pharmaceutical and insurance industries.

Fourth. The real truth is that Most Americans want a single payer system. The truth is most people don't like this law because it doesn't go far enough. President Obama had Olive branches coming out of the White House windows asking for a bipartisanism and for the "Rights" contribution, but the "Party of NO" lied about being asked to the table.

Fifth. Ms Janice doesn't get whom we have to get America back from. She needs to realize Americans need to rid America of corporate control of our political system. Americans live in a Plutocracy. Government by the wealthy, corporation.

The definition of socialism out of my collage Political Science Book from 1976 states: A system in which the producers possess political power and the means of producing and distributing goods.

My greatest sadness on the issue is our educational system doesn't give all people the ability to think for themselves or to critically read multiple sources or to understand that the Tea Partiers and FOX news has an agenda against the President. Remember anyone who advocates rebellion against the President or the gov. is ANTI American. In the 70's there was a saying of the conservatives being "America, Love It Or Leave It".

I love my country and I'm not afraid of it. I try to understand the system.
