SPOKANE - Post Falls seniors Dyllin Cady and Marian deTar won four matches to advance to today's semifinals in No. 1 mixed doubles at the Inland Empire Championships.

Cady and deTar beat a team from Lewis and Clark 6-2, 7-6 (3); beat Central Valley 7-6 (6), 6-3; beat Moses Lake 6-1, 6-0; and beat Medical Lake 6-2, 6-3.

"At the end of it they were certainly exhausted," Post Falls coach Angela Blair said. "They just communicate so well together; their net play is amazing. It seems like (Dyllin) can get to everything."

Jill Johnson and Haley Kausen of Lake City also advanced to the semifinals in No. 1 girls doubles, going 2-1 on Friday. The duo defeated teams from Moses Lake and Mt. Spokane before losing to Southridge of Kennewick, Wash.

"The first couple of matches it seemed like they were warming up," Lake City girls coach Bob Brunn said. "Southridge is one of the top two teams in the tournament. They played a more experienced team. Overall, it was a pretty good day."

The semifinals and finals in all brackets are today at Mead High.
