Regarding shooting incident in Hayden on March 9th:

The family and friends of Chad Moore want to express their deepest regret for the recent events that have transpired. It was a horribly, dreadful day for all who were involved in this needless tragedy and we all are hurting deeply.

We also want the public to know that Chad was no monster. We were shocked and mortified to hear the reports that were coming across the media. Any one that really knew Chad, knew that these reports were skewed, but we would like for those who did not know him, to know our side of the story.

Chad was a good Christian man who had a personal relationship with his Savior. He was a compassionate young man who tried to live the golden rule and did his best to love and protect his loved ones. He hated to see anyone in pain. He was a shy, warm, kind hearted, tender, loving person that wasn't afraid to show his tears. He tried to solve his problems in a peaceful manner and turned his cheek many times when confronted or attacked by others.

But he was also human, and when provoked to the limits, he was known to fight back. There is a lot more to this story that the public really doesn't need to know, but suffice it to say that unfortunately poor choices were made by both of these young men.

Our hearts and prayers go out to all who are mourning, especially their parents, children and spouses who are left behind. May God bless them and bring them the comfort that their hearts yearn for.
