RESPONSE: Four S'es for Democrats

| March 15, 2010 7:52 AM

Being a person rarely reading op-eds, letters to the editor, My Turn, etc., I have realized over the years that none of these people are any smarter than me or anybody else, so why waste time over something that I can clearly see with my own eyes?

But Sunday my wife insisted that I read Jimmy Pappas’s testimony on “My Turn” and still concluded that it was the same old rambling and BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. I am an educated man with two college degress but I can say truthfully that I haven’t got a clue what he was talking about. The one thing that really caught my eye: his comments of 1857 Dred Scott Case and Abolitionists. Odd, what’s that got to do with now, 150 years later? Did you not ever read a history book, not butchered Internet blogs, that the whole Civil War and 150 years afterwards of suffering for blacks was strictly a Democrat resume? What is your point? You can’t possibly be blaming the Republicans. That would be a dance of futility.

How about these facts: Did you know that Martin Luther King was a Republican? Did you know that JFK VOTED AGAINST the 1957 Civil Rights act as a Senator? Did you know that it was Reagan who made MLK birthday a holiday?

Although I am white, I do belong to the Black National Republican Association. Dems can be summed up in four words: Secessionists, Segregationists, Socialist, and Suppressionists.

Good luck at the Library!
