Syracuse looking good from the top

Fifth-year seniors Andy Rautins and Arinze Onuaku made their final home game at Syracuse, N.Y., one to remember, combining for 35 points and the Orange (28-2, 15-2 Big East) beat St. John's (15-14, 5-12) 85-66 on Tuesday night in their first game in two decades as the No. 1 team in the nation.

Onuaku finished with a season-high 21 points and had eight rebounds. Rautins had 14 points and seven assists.

No. 6 Ohio State 73, Illinois 57: At Columbus, Ohio, Jon Diebler scored 21 points and the Buckeyes (24-7, 14-4) clinched at least a share of the Big Ten title with a win over Illinois (18-12, 10-7).

No. 9 Villanova 77, Cincinnati 73: At Cincinnati, Scottie Reynolds scored all of his 17 points in the second half, leading Villanova (24-5, 13-4 Big East) past Cincinnati (16-13, 7-10).

No. 13 Vanderbilt 64, Florida 60: At Gainesville, Fla., John Jenkins scored 18 points, leading Vanderbilt (23-6, 12-3 Southeastern Conference) past Florida (20-10, 9-6).

No. 21 Baylor 86, Texas Tech 68: At Lubbock, Texas, Tweety Carter scored 18 points to lead Baylor (23-6, 10-5 Big 12) past Texas Tech (16-13, 4-11).

No. 24 UTEP 80, Marshall 76: At Huntington, W.Va., Randy Culpepper scored 32 points to lead Texas-El Paso (23-5, 14-1) past Marshall (22-8, 10-5), clinching the Miners' first outright Conference USA championship.
