| June 4, 2010 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - A new program designed to help Idaho media production workers develop their skills is being launched by the Idaho Film Office.

The goal of this pilot program is to assist the growing filmmaking/new media workforce in Idaho through hands-on production experience on an eligible project.

Eligible projects may include documentary, narrative or animated productions, Internet or device game design, smart phone application design or completion of a work-in-progress.

Applicants will undergo a panel review process with the assistance of the Idaho Commission on the Arts.

"Idaho has an extremely talented group of filmmakers and new media innovators. Through this pilot project, production personnel will gain experience while showcasing their talents," said Peg Owens, Marketing Specialist with the Idaho Film Office.

The film office estimates that only 4-5 projects will be funded with the dollars available. Projects must be filmed in Idaho and be completed within the grant period.
