Benefit concert Saturday at Song Bird

A Lapwai Missions benefit concert is scheduled 8 p.m. Saturday at the Song Bird Theatre, 315 N. Fourth.

The "Reckless Pursuit" band with special guest Katrina Huff will perform.

Last year, New Life Youth from New Life Community Church went on a mission trip to Lapwai to help renovate buildings.

"We accomplished a lot in the five days that we were down there, painting and re-roofing," according to a press release. "One of the buildings had been condemned, and we were able to transform it into a community center. We painted City Hall, re-roofed a widow's house, and painted other buildings."

The group is going back this year, and plans to focus on building relationships in the community. This concert is a fundraiser for the trip.
