Best Buy adds clinics

Best Buy is offering another series of free clinics on Saturdays this month. Each will be held 8:30-10 a.m., and coffee and doughnuts are provided.

On June 5 the store will offer Getting Around with GPS.

On June 12, Car Audio Solutions will be presented.

On June 19 a session will discuss Streaming Video, Pics, and Audio to your Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.

On June 26 Youtube will be the topic.

No advance sign-up is required. Anyone interested is welcome to show up at the store at 425 W. Wilbur Ave.

SBA offers

marketing seminar

The U.S. Small Business Administration will offer a free day-long seminar on "Marketing Your Services or Products to Federal Buyers" on Thursday, June 17.

Morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided during the seminar that runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The seminar will be held at the Spokane Regional Business Center, first floor conference room, 801 West Riverside Ave., Spokane

Seminar topics will include:

• Successful businesses constantly sell their services and products to new customers, and work feverishly to retain and grow their existing business base of satisfied customers. To market to the Federal government, business owners must learn what the Federal government buys and how it buys services and products.

The seminar addresses marketing to the federal government and key topics including:

• Strategies to maintain a strong marketing presence

• The importance of making contact with the Buyer

• The Federal budget process and acquisition cycles, and

• Agency forecasts.

Additionally, each seminar participant will receive the book, "Win Government Contracts for Your Small Business," by John DiGiacomo.

Eligible businesses include:

• 8(a) certified or eligible firms

• HUBZone certified or eligible firms

• Businesses operating in areas of high unemployment or low income

• Businesses owned by low-income individuals

Registration is required. Register at www.pbsisbtraining.com. Class size is limited to the first 40 eligible registrants.

Helbling adds to staff

Helbling Employee Benefits recently added two new staff members.

Nancy Shepherd was hired as a benefit specialist. She previously worked for St. Maries School District as the human resources/payroll clerk.

Holly Bruner was hired as a COBRA specialist and will handle the firm's COBRA administration. She comes to Helbling with prior experience in administration and enrollment.
