Post Falls water tower to be preserved

| July 28, 2010 9:00 PM

POST FALLS - The water tower along Spokane Street at the Spokane River will be preserved as a landmark.

The Post Falls Historic Preservation Commission would like to put the structure on the National Register of Historic Places and has begun researching the tower's history.

The tower is owned by the city.

"It is no longer needed for water storage, but it is utilized by public safety for a communications site," City Administrator Eric Keck said. "The tower does need some maintenance work to ensure its integrity and improve its aesthetics."
