CDA schools announce registration dates, details
Registration is fast approaching for the 2010-2011 school year in the Coeur d’Alene School District.
Registration day is Aug. 24 from noon to 6 p.m. for all elementary and middle school new and returning students. New students must bring a certified birth certificate, immunization record and verification of address. Returning students should bring verification of address, such as a utility bill or rental agreement.
Hayden Meadows has assigned times to alleviate long lines. They ask that new students come between noon and 2 p.m., returning students with last names A-M arrive between 2 and 4 p.m. and returning students with last names N-Z register between 4 and 6 p.m. All incoming kindergartners should also come to the school that day between noon and 6 p.m. for prescreening.
Borah will again combine its sign-up day with a “registration celebration” featuring games, school supplies and complimentary haircuts for students who want them. Several businesses and individuals are donating items and services to make the second annual celebration possible for Borah families.
Since Ramsey is reopening as a magnet school this fall, its registration process will differ slightly. All returning students should register on August 24, but new students will be accepted by application process, depending on space availability. Parents of new students wishing to apply may fill out an application now through August 19 at the District office, or stop by the school after August 19.
The Hayden Kinder Center, which serves kindergartners from Ramsey, Skyway and Atlas attendance zones, asks that parents who did not register in April do so at the District Office now through August 19. Any student not registered by then may do so at the Kinder Center on August 24. Last names A-L are asked to register between 9 and 11 a.m., with last names M-Z from 2 to 4 p.m. Idaho law requires a child be 5 years old on or before September 1 to attend kindergarten.
Parents who registered their kindergarten student in April and were assigned an appointment time for prescreening are reminded to check their appointment slip and bring items that were checked off to complete the registration packet.
Project C.D.A. Alternative High School and Bridge Academy will also register students from noon to 6 p.m. on that day.
Coeur d’Alene High School will enroll Renaissance students and seniors on Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; juniors on Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and sophomores on Aug. 30 during the same hours. Freshmen will register Aug. 31, with last names M-Z from 9 to 11 a.m. and A-L from noon to 2 p.m.
Lake City High School will register seniors on Aug. 26, juniors on Aug. 27, sophomores on Aug. 30 and freshmen on Aug. 31. The school asks that students with last names M-Z arrive between 9 and 11 a.m., and students with last names A-L register between noon and 2 p.m.
