Music, song at Bakery by the Lake

COEUR d'ALENE - A casual evening of music and song performed by the professional actors of the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre will be presented at 8 p.m. today.

"Cabaret by the Lake" will give audiences the chance to buy fresh-baked goodies, Italian coffee and a large selection of beer and wine at Bakery by the Lake in Parkside at 601 Front Ave.

Admission is free, and donations can be made to benefit the Summer Theater.

Honeysuckle Beach has revised hours

HAYDEN - The Honeysuckle Beach and boat launch at Hayden will be closed Saturday from midnight to 2 p.m. for the third annual Hayden View Triathlon and the Hayden View Race for Children's Health.

All areas at Honeysuckle Beach will re-open at 2 p.m. Lifeguards will be on duty from 2-6 p.m.

Only local resident access will be allowed. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed.

Body by Scotty to celebrate 30 years

POST FALLS - The 30th annual Body by Scotty block party will be held on Friday from 5-9 p.m. at the Post Falls business at 311 E. Third Ave.

There will be a free chicken and ham meal, music by the Rhythm Dawgs, a clown entertainer, a car show, kids' activities and adult and children's beverages.

George Winston is coming to play

COEUR d'ALENE - Pianist George Winston is scheduled to perform Sept. 15 at the Kroc Center's Performing Arts Theater.

Proceeds will support The Kroc Center Scholarship Fund that provides Kroc memberships, programs, and classes for individuals and families.

Since 1980 Winston has released 11 solo piano albums. In concert, George will be performing songs from his new CD, "Love Will Come - The Music of Vince Guaraldi, Volume 2," as well as other selections.

Tickets are $25, go on sale today and are available at The Kroc Center front desk, or can be purchased over the phone with a credit card at 667-1865.

No inspections Thursday or Friday

There will be no building, mechanical or plumbing inspections performed Thursday or Friday by the City of Coeur d'Alene, Building Services Department. The closure is due to a training seminar for residential and commercial energy codes.
