Gomez debuts as a winner for Cleveland

Jhonny Peralta's flyball sent Detroit's Ryan Rayburn crashing through a bullpen door for an inside-the-park homer, and Jeanmar Gomez won his major league debut as the host Cleveland Indians beat the Tigers 7-2 victory Sunday to complete a four-game sweep.

Gomez, called up from Triple-A Columbus to make a spot start, allowed two unearned runs over seven innings.

Yankees 9, Rays 5: Alex Rodriguez and host New York knocked around All-Star starter David Price to beat Tampa Bay.

Rangers 4, Red Sox 2: C.J. Wilson struck out a career-high 10 and visiting Texas capitalized on Boston's throwing problems to beat the Red Sox.

Blue Jays 10, Orioles 1: Yunel Escobar hit his first career grand slam during a six-run second inning, and visiting Toronto swept the three-game series from Baltimore.

Athletics 9, Royals 6: Adam Rosales, Kevin Kouzmanoff and Jack Cust each went deep, and Vin Mazzaro pitched into the eighth inning to help visiting Oakland past Kansas City.

Twins, 7, White Sox 6: At Minneapolis, Delmon Young capped a four-run ninth inning with a two-run single, lifting Minnesota to a come-from-behind victory over Chicago.

Rockies 1, Reds 0: Chris Iannetta homered in visiting Colorado's win over Cincinnati.

Padres 6, Diamondbacks 4: Chris Denorfia homered twice and had four hits, and Everth Cabrera tripled in the go-ahead run and host San Diego beat Arizona.

Pirates 9, Astros 0: Paul Maholm pitched a three-hitter for his second career shutout and host Pittsburgh established a season high for hits (19) in beating Houston.

Mets 4, Giants 3, 10 inn.: Ike Davis doubled home the go-ahead run in 10th inning and visiting New York avoided a four-game sweep by beating San Francisco.

Cardinals 5, Dodgers 4: Matt Holliday drove in the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning, and host St. Louis rallied from a four-run deficit to finish a four-game sweep of Los Angeles.

Braves 11, Brewers 6: Brian McCann hit a grand slam and matched his career high with five RBIs, helping visiting Atlanta over Milwaukee.

Marlins 1, Nationals 0: At Miami, Alex Sanabia pitched into the sixth inning to earn his first major league win as Florida shut out Washington.

Cubs 11, Phillies 6: Roy Halladay hit Marlon Byrd twice and gave up two-run homers to Geovany Soto and Alfonso Soriano after each errant throw, sending host Chicago past Philadelphia.
