A 2-year-old Sagle girl died Sunday afternoon after the vehicle she was riding in crashed about seven miles east of Kootenai on Highway 200 in Bonner County, Idaho State Police said.

The girl's mother, 18-year-old Ashlee Price of Sagle, was driving westbound when she drove off the north shoulder of the roadway, over corrected and the vehicle overturned, police said.

The vehicle then rolled down a steep embankment on the north shoulder and came to rest on its roof in about 4 feet of water, police said.

Katlyn Price died.

Ashlee Price, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner, police said.

The crash was near Pack River.

People passing by stopped and turned the vehicle onto its driver's side and pulled Katlyn Price and another child, 5-year-old Tyson Ruel, out of the vehicle.

All three were taken to Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, police said. Hospital officials said patient condition information wasn't immediately available Sunday night.

The accident occurred before 2 p.m. Police said the investigation is continuing.
