SHOLEH: Positive beliefs guide lives

| July 11, 2010 10:00 PM

I was glad to see Sholeh Patrick’s column, “Modesty a matter of perception,” in the Press. Not because it is about nudity, but because it gave the message that our beliefs, ideas and attitudes can lead us to false perceptions. The article had a clear message delivered in terms nearly anyone can understand, and I hope many will be able to transfer that learning to other more critical subjects such as race, lifestyle, relationships, etc.

I’ve taught classes about how our beliefs can either be constructive or destructive. In an ideal world we would all get that the quality of our thought (our perceptions) determines the quality of our lives. Thanks to Mrs. Patrick for being a responsible thinker.
