Backward bound
A restored fire truck owned by Fred Harris, Harris Dean Insurance, will lead the Backward Parade down Sherman Avenue this Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m.
Once it reaches 15th Street at 11 a.m. the American Heroes Parade and Mayor's Mile will commence.
Along with the fire truck will be Chris Cheely in his red Ferrari and Don Brooks driving his 1934 electric car. The bucket brigade volunteers will travel along the parade route collecting dollars from spectators for the fireworks fund.
"So when you see this patriotic troupe be sure to put a buck in their bucket in support of the fireworks fund," according to a press release.
There will be festivities throughout Coeur d'Alene and at the City Park, highlighted by the fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
"Thanks to this great community we can give the gift of this extraordinary fireworks display to each other," said Debbie Berger, fireworks fund coordinator.
