SCHOOLS: Offer Constitution study

| July 2, 2010 12:58 PM

Ron Vieselmeyer’s letter of 20 June, with suggestions regarding schools of choice, definitely has has merit and should be taken under consideration. He made reference to the deceptive, misleading interpretation of the U.S. Constitution.

Since so many aspects of American life are predicated upon the interpretation of the Constitution it would seem to me that one of the schools of choice should offer a course on Constitutional studies, including original intent. Edwin J. Feulner, PhD, president of the Heritage Foundation, said “To set America back on the right course, we must broadly revive an understanding and appreciation of the Constitution as the foundation of our liberty.”

Adding a course on the Declaration of Independence and Natural Law would add understanding too. The way the Constitution is being assaulted today it is imperative to set up havens of study of this subject for posterity and trim out some of this superficial foreign studies in the lower grades.
