Welcome to the North Idaho Wedding Fair
POST FALLS — Plenty of wedding fairs showcase vendors in fashion shows, but the North Idaho Wedding Fair on Feb. 28 has something better: The entire year-long process from engagement to wedding compressed into 30-minute live wedding shows.
The plays, which include weddings, will exhibit what the 40 vendors at the show can offer to brides and wedding parties.
“It’s going to be incredible,” said Connie O’Neal, one of the coordinators of the show to be held at the Red Lion Templin’s Hotel.
“We’re going to take it to the next level,” she said.
Doors for the fair open at 10 a.m. and it ends at 4:30 p.m. The live bridal shows are scheduled at noon and 2:30 p.m. Admission is a can of food for the Post Falls Food Bank and a dollar donation to OASIS, which provides services and shelter to domestic violence victims.
“We’re not trying to make a killing, we want to give back to the community,” O’Neal said.
Vendors at the events include wedding coordinators, wedding facilities, florists, photographers and more — even Curves will be there, because so many women want to get in shape to look their best on their wedding day.
All the vendors are from North Idaho
“When the brides show up, they’re going to get a good idea that here in North Idaho we have everything it takes for a wedding,” said Holly Hansen, one of the organizers of the event and a wedding planner with Ruby Frog Entertainment.
“We have everything that you need in North Idaho, and it’s such a beautiful location,” she said.
Hansen was excited about the skits, which she said would be “kind of like a silent film.” Hansen said she thinks fashion shows are fun, but brides show up to wedding fairs to look for more than dresses.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun and I think it’s going to be a really cool twist that everyone will enjoy,” she said.
