Kindergarten registration set

The Coeur d'Alene School District has scheduled April 27 as registration day for Fall 2010 kindergarten. A child must turn 5 by Sept. 1 to be eligible for kindergarten.

When registering, parents should bring the youngster's certified birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency, such as a rent receipt or utility bill.

Borah, Bryan, Dalton, Fernan, Hayden Meadows and Winton elementary schools will hold registration from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Children who live within the Sorensen Magnet School attendance zone will also register from 9:30 to noon at that school.

Five-year-olds who live in the Atlas, Ramsey and Skyway attendance zones will register at the Hayden Kinder Center located at the corner of Government Way and Hayden Avenue. The Kinder Center asks that students with last names of A-L register between 9 and 11 a.m., and M-Z from 1 to 3 p.m. On that day, the Kinder Center will schedule appointments for student pre-screenings which will be held on Aug. 24.
