Leon J. Francis

After serving only 13 1/2 years in the United States Marine Corps, Leon J. Francis was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on Feb. 1, 2010.

Leon, who is a 1988 Falls Christian Academy graduate, is currently the Head of the Military Law Branch, Judge Advocate Division, Headquarters Marine Corps at the Pentagon.

Leon is the son of the late Glen and Ramona Francis of Post Falls. He's married to Tami Hougham Francis and has three children: Tristan, Hannah and Molly.

WEDDING

Rowley-Estep

Ron and Sandee Estep are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Ean, to Kristi Rowley on Jan. 2, 2010, at the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kristi is the daughter of Larry and Diane Rowley of Moreno Valley, Calif.

Kristi is a graduate of Provo High School and attended Brigham Young University. Ean is a 1996 graduate of Lake City High School and graduated from Brigham Young University in 2003. In May 2008, he graduated from the University of San Diego, School of Law.

The couple will reside in Utah.

Scarlett Rose Wells was born at 7:50 a.m. Jan. 19, 2010, to Melissa and Scott Wells of Rathdrum. She weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20.75 inches long. Sister is Olivia Wells. Maternal grandparents are Susan Spafford and the late Rob Spafford. Paternal grandparents are Jerry and Ellen Wells.

Avery May Whaley was born at 3:50 a.m. Jan. 27, 2010, to Jennifer May and Matthew James Whaley of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 inches long. Sister is Casey Jean. Maternal grandparents are Wade and Cindy Edington. Paternal grandparents are Mike and Karen Whaley.

Gannon Gerald Traw was born at 9:01 a.m. Jan. 28, 2010, to Stephanie and Joey Traw of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 inches long. Brother is Oakland. Sister is Madden. Maternal grandparents are Randy and Susan Nielsen of Hayden. Paternal grandparents are Joe and Kathy Traw of Coeur d'Alene. Great-grandparents are Wilford and Louise Westergard of Idaho Falls, and Glenn and Evelyn Monie of Coeur d'Alene.

Kason Alan McDonald was born Jan. 16, 2010, to KC and Shawna McDonald of Kalispell, Mont. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Jack and Heather Foster. Paternal grandparents are Richard and Crystal McDonald, and Sid and Lori Seay. Great-grandparents are Bob and Sharon Foster, and Rod and Kathy Oelke.

Shelby Lynn Anderton was born at 1:13 a.m. Jan. 23, 2010, to Allison and Barney Anderton of Wolf Lodge. She weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was 18.25 inches long. Proud big sister is Gabrielle White-Anderton. Maternal grandparents are Wayne and Debbie White of Hidden Valley. Paternal grandparents are Dorthy and Hayes Rutherford of Priest River, and Don and Jerri Anderton of Hope.
