Marleau's shootout goal lifts Sharks

Patrick Marleau scored the lone goal in a shootout to give the visiting San Jose Sharks a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night.

Hurricanes 4, Sabres 3, OT: At Raleigh, N.C., Sergei Samsonov scored 1:47 into overtime and Carolina beat Buffalo.

Canucks 3, Panthers 0: At Sunrise, Fla., Roberto Luongo made 31 saves, leading Vancouver past Florida.

Bruins 5, Lightning 4: At Tampa, Fla., Michael Ryder and Milan Lucic scored two goals apiece, leading Boston past Tampa Bay.

Stars 3, Flames 1: Mike Ribeiro scored twice, leading Dallas at Calgary.

Oilers 3, Kings 2, SO: Lubomir Visnovsky scored in the shootout, leading Edmonton at Los Angeles.
