Your tips can help Haiti

| February 10, 2010 11:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - It's not to late to tip your server for Haiti.

In fact, a group of restaurants has already pledged its tipping support for Saturday's pledge drive, where bartenders, servers and waitresses will donate a portion of that night's tips to the survivors from the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that killed 200,000 people in Haiti.

Servers interested in participating will wear a "Tips for Haiti" button Saturday so patrons will know where their extra dollars are going.

The waitresses and servers can donate how ever much they choose from their tips that night, and 100 percent of the proceeds will be given to the cause.

Restaurants already participating include Paddy's, 4th Street Pantry, Get and Go Gourmet, O'Shays, Davis Donuts, Outback Steakhouse, Jitterz, J.B.'s, The Lakers, Applebees, 1210 Tavern, Coeur d'Alene Eagles Club and the Office Bar and Grill.
